Ben, the Canine Ambassador to be Featured on National Television

Every dog has his day, and this Wednesday is Ben's, the Canine Ambassador at Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire.  The 2-year old Chocolate Labrador retriever will be featured on the national television show At the End of My Leash on February 3, 2010, airing locally on the Slice Network in Calgary at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.  Ben is the focus of the show as he tries to "shake" some of his bad habits.

Brad Pattison, host and star of the hit program, visited the hotel to help train Ben, who joined the hotel team in January, 2009. As the Sheraton Suites Canine Ambassador, Ben is a lovable dog that is very gentle with guests of all ages. His dog house is located in the lobby next to the Concierge desk where he greets guests and promotes the Sheraton as a dog-friendly hotel. Ben is available to guests at the hotel for walks, pats and scratches behind the ear from Monday to Friday.

When asked to describe the experience of working with Brad, Ben said without a "paws", that it was "ruff!"

The episode also features staff at the hotel, including General Manager Gord Minor and the concierge team as they work to help Ben lose some of his country dog traits and acclimatize to the hotel environment.
